Under the flowering Cherry tree~

Oh, patient friends, thanks for checking in! We finally have some new pics and stories up about Kira. It's been a busy few months, and computer time is a real commodity for us, so thanks for your understanding. Late winter was great... not very much snow this year in PA, but we made the best of our one puny storm and Dan's snow day off from school. Kira seemed a little confused by the whole thing, but definitely liked the taste of snow, cold on her lips.
Our chilly wintery days were followed by two wonderful trips.... First, Monica and Kira joined Memaw and Pepaw and Aunt Jenny for a great time in beautiful Isabel, Puerto Rico. Kira experienced many firsts -- first airplane ride, first stroller ride (big-girl style), first swim, lots of new foods (watermelon was a big hit!), and first time away from Daddy (oh boy did we miss him!). It was lovely, and such a treasure to spend such good time with family. We really enjoyed our time there, and are longing to return again to our little paradise by the waters.
Next up was a fun trip to New Orleans. Dan had a conference there, and Kira and Monica were able to join him! We strolled all over town, ate marvelous food, visited the Aquarium, saw an IMAX movie (Kira loved it!) and went to the St Patrick's Parade in the Garden District. Had a great time there too, and wished we could have stayed longer.
By then, by golly, it was practically Easter, and we had our own funny-bunny to snuggle!
Kira is doing great -- she is really healthy, eats lots of veggies and fruits, loves to play and read books, chomps Cheerios with her little teeth (all 6 of em!), and crawls all over the place. She is ticklish, she is silly, she loves music, loves big-girl baths, and claps her hands for joy. We're pretty joyful too, these days, and we are looking forward to a great summer. Kira will be walking soon, we think, and we'll be sure to keep you up to date.
